11-year old Berivan receives her new pair of summer shoes in Nowruz refugee camp in Syria. She fled her home in Sinjar, Iraq, two years ago and is now going to music classes at a centre in the camp. “I really love music and I feel happy when I learn and hear music. My dream is to be a doctor in the future to help my people,” she said. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children inTal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

“My favourite lesson is English, I am trying to learn it, and when I grow up I want to be an English teacher,” said 9-year old Segvan, as he receives new shoes for the summer. He fled his home in Sinjar, Iraq, two years ago and now attends a music and dance classes in Nowruz refugee camp, Syria. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

Feleknaz has lived in Ain Al-Khadra refugee camp in Syria for the past two years after fleeing Sinjar mountain in Iraq. She loves going to school again and is in 4th grade. “I am the first in my classroom this year, I want to be a doctor when I grow up to I can help sick children,” she said. Feleknaz was delighted to receive a new pair of shoes for the summer. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

Nadiya and Saffiya are living in Nowruz refugee camp in Syria. The 6-year olds fled Sinjar mountain in Iraq with their families more than two years ago and are now receiving their new shoes for the summer. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

Nadiya (6), Johera (8), Saffiya (6), and Sherin (10), are all refugees Sinjar mountain in Iraq. They have been living in Nowruz refugee camp in Syria for more than two years. They now have brand new shoes for the summer months. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

Some 5000 refugees from Iraq live in the Nowruz camp.  UNICEF has installed 64 prefabricated latrine unites and 50 water tanks for safe access to water and sanitation.

“My dream is to be an architect, to build a school for children in my village in Sinjar Mountain,” said 11-year old Selwa, an Iraqi refugee living in Nowruz camp, Syria. 10-year old Emad gets a pair of new shoes for the summer. He is a refugee from Sinjar mountain in Iraq and has been living in Nowruz refugee camp in Syria for two years. Going back to school is the greatest gift he has received. “I love school so much because we learn writing and reading and I want to thank our teachers as they did the best to teach us. I want to be a teacher in the future,” he said. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

“I want to ask children who dropped out school to come back because the education is good thing, my dream is to be a teacher in the future,” said 10-year old Eeda as she received her new summer shoes. Eeda is a refugee from Syria living in Nowruz camp, Syria. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.

Waheeda, a 10 year old from Sinjar Mountain, Iraq, said, “When I was in my village in Sinjar Mountain I had many dolls but now I have few. I love school because it teaches us reading, my dream is to be a teacher in the future.” Receiving new shoes, Waheeda is now ready for the summer. UNICEF distributed 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Tal Hmis town, Nowruz camp, Roj camp and Al-Hol camp.
