As the Syrian crisis enters its fourth year, children are bearing the brunt of the conflict. By the end of 2013, fighting had forced 2.2 million people to leave the country, with more than 200,000 fleeing to Iraq.
Throughout 2013, UNICEF and partners in Iraq provided Syrian children and their families with access to clean water and vaccinated 5 million Syrian and other children against polio. We’ve also helped keep 8,000 Syrian children warm with winter clothing.
